Five for Friday

Hey! I'm back to blog about this week. Join in the five for Friday fun!

We just got back from the beach this week. We had a fantastic time! We went to a Dave Matthews concert, ate great seafood, and had a relaxing time at the beach.

I'm feeling pretty accomplished with my professional development this week. I finished two online courses this week. One was all about our internal system (IMS) that has curriculum information, scope and sequence, and links to other resources. The other was a lovely (enter sarcasm here) Marzano class. The only good thing that can be said about that class is that I have the first six weeks of math all planed out. A special thanks to my team that helped me through all the tedious modules.

Speaking of planning I have planned out the first six weeks of science as well. I don't have the plans in my actually lesson plan template yet but they are all typed out in word. Yes!
We are doing scientific method, 5 senses, night/day sky, stars rocks, and slow and fast land changes.

Since I was obviously into planning this week. I did a long range plan that I got from Sunny Days in Second Grade. You can edit anything you want and it was super easy to use. I found it very helpful to make a plan for the whole year to guide me along. I sent it out to my team as well. It's free right now on her blog so go check it out.

Don't worry I haven't only been planning. I've also been reading.
I finished reading The Cuckoo's Calling and starting reading The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith. This is actually J.K. Rowling alias. Both books are about a detective Cormoran Strike and are mystery/thrillers. I recommend both books! They are a fast read, interesting, and well written.

  1. You must be in OCPS! I ddi those same courses. The Marazano one was a lot. Thankfully, I got that one done earlier in the summer. Did you do the ELL one, as well? It was a bit tricky to find, but it's pretty quick. I hope you are enjoying your last few weeks of summer!!

    1. Thankfully I don't have to wake up at a certain time since the classes are online. That takes a lot to wake up to go to PD. Thanks for stopping by!
