Wow
after a couple of months I’m back and ready for a new school season! In June I
went to Hawaii, visited with family, celebrated my 2nd anniversary,
and my birthday. July was full of new surprises, summer celebrations with
friends, and relaxing days at the beach and pool.
Now
we are already arriving at August! For all teachers we know this means BACK TO
SCHOOL! Which is an exciting and overwhelming time. So here is what I am currently up to:
Right
now I’m listening to Lollapalooza live streaming, which is a music festival in
Chicago. It’s awesome to hear new bands and old favorites.
I
LOVE my family always not just currently but maybe especially right now. My
adorable nephew just turned one this past week. I can’t believe how much he has
grown this past year. He is a wonderful baby who brings so much joy to our
family. My parents are also making a big move to Florida from Georgia! I am
thrilled to have my parents so close.
I
am thinking all about going back to school. I’m trying to prepare as much as
possible at home before I can go into school.
Speaking
of school, I really want to get into my classroom! I’m not allowed to go in
until August 10th. Then August 13th I leave for a family
reunion so I won’t be able to work in my room that Thursday or Friday. August
17th starts pre-planning craziness….full of meetings and limited
classroom time. August 24th is that last day of school. I moved
rooms this year so I’m feeling a bit stressed I won’t get it all done in time
for Meet the Teacher on August 20th. I moved upstairs to the second
grade hallway!!
I
really need my printer to cooperate and stop telling me the ink in empty when I
just put a new ink cartridge in the printer. SO frustrating! I really need the
printer to continue doing its job so I can get back to preparing! My husband is
going to look at it today. It is also
extremely important this printer works since the school district took away our
printers in our classrooms this year. I’m not sure how I’ll live without a
printer in my room but we shall see.
When
I see my new second grade teammates for pre-planning, I will be giving them
little goodies. I usually get magnetic paper pads like the ones at Target
dollar spot. I also try to write an encouraging e-mail some time during
pre-planning or the first week of school to let them know they are doing a
great job. Just a little note can go a long way in making someone’s day.
I’ll
be posting more now that the school year is approaching. I can’t wait to show
you my new room!
Oh no! I hope your printer is fixed soon! Very frustrating!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your background! I'm actually using that print (quatrefoil) in my classroom this year for my decorations!

Thanks! I love that pattern. I'm sure your class will be beautiful!
DeleteI agree with Katie- INK SMINK!!! Always a pain- wish they would invent a never ending printer- color- that costs $20. LOL!!! Hi Jess! I am from Louisiana- north of New Orleans, and I LOVE manatees! I go to Florida a couple of times a year to swim with and help out at hospitals- research facilities and such. I am a new blogger and 10 year sped teacher- new school this year- grades 5/6 self contained- so many on second grade level. Hope you have great year! I go back tomorrow- kiddos Thursday.I'm a little nervous- have been Montessori for the last 4 years- moving back into "traditonal" ed. I'm sure it will all be fine. You are so lucky to live in Florida! Love your blue and books- visit me and be my third (LOL) follower at www.motivationinthemiddle.com
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love manatees so much too! I just saw some the other day, a momma and her baby. I hope you have a great year too. Good luck tomorrow! I'm sure moving back to traditional ed will be a bit hard but hopefully it will be a smooth transition.
DeletePrinter problems are terrible! Hope it gets worked out before school starts!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope it gets fixed today!
