1st day back in the New Year!

I survived my first day back! Yeah! It was a really good day.

-The weather was cooler today. (65 degrees don’t hate please I know it’s super cold everywhere else!)
-   I was productive before school and everything was organized and ready to go!
-   My kids were super excited to be back and were well behaved.
-   I only had 14 out of 18 kids today in class.
-We got everything done we were supposed to in class! Whoa!!
-Everyone's writing was amazing today!
-   The morning went by really fast.
-   We changed up our schedule and it worked out really well!
-   I got so much work done after school and left before 5.

Today was just a great day all around. I had healthy meals and now I’m off to the gym!

 2015 is looking really good!

Teachers Taking Care of Teachers

On March 2nd there were 44 tornadoes across 5 different states and many people were left without homes and schools. Let's band together as the great community of teachers that we are to help out these teachers that have lost all of their supplies, books, materials that they have lost due to this catastrophe! Kreative in Kinder is having a bloggers link up to donate anything to help out. I'm going to be donating some new spring TPT products and school supplies to help these teachers and communities get back on their feet. Please spread that word and link up! I'm also taking this quote from Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics who inspired me to link up and write this post this morning! Thanks for posting about a great cause and helping me reflect on the important things in life!

My favorite blog:
The First Grade Parade was the first teacher blog I was introduced to and inspired me to be a blogger. This blog helped me to find so many resources, fun ideas, and made me realize what a big teacher blog world there was out there! I love the way that everything is organized on this blog and how creative her ideas are! Thanks for being an inspiration Cara!

My favorite online resource:
I am so addicted to Pinterest now and I know I'm not alone in this one! It is a wonderful way to find new blogs and great ideas. I love how simple it is to use and that it's an app on my phone!

Teacher Talk Tuesday

This is kind of a short post...I've been to the dentist this evening for some extreme pain in my tooth and jaw so I'm still a little under the weather. Speaking of weather...an earthquake today and a hurricane this weekend! I hope all my blogger friends are okay! Okay I digress back to actual teacher talk! I still feel like I'm a "new" teacher this only being my fourth year teaching and having switched schools. But this is some advice for first year teachers!

Be more prepared than you need to be! Have way to many activities planned so you never have any down time!

Behavior management makes your whole year! Make sure you practice routines and set the tone at the beginning of the year. It's okay to be strict in the beginning and then give a little if they are behaving. Remember your students who go above and beyond and reward them.

Be friendly at school with everyone but do not gossip. You don't want to "dip" in buckets or be like a high school mean girl. Keep it professional!

Be silly and have fun sometimes they're kids!

Your students will love you! So put a smile on your face and do the best you can!
